due by next Tuesday, the 12th

Next week's blog post(s) will be due by next Tuesday, the 12th. If you do not already write on your blog two or three times a week, depending on which class you are in, you can use this writing prompt for the week: What are you thirsting to learn and why?Whatever you are thirsting to learn DOES NOT HAVE TO BE ABOUT THIS CLASS. It can be about absolutely anything from skateboarding to horses to Monopoly to Zoology. You are to write a 3-paragraph descriptive essay on what it is you are dying to learn about maybe in college, in life, or in the final months of high school.

what im dying to learn is why college is extremely expensive. what does college have to offer that has to be 20,000 -40,000 each year? the only thing were getting is a degree but i dont understand why its soo expensive? there is a 50 dollar fee to send application. the books cost around 1,000 to 2,000 dollars it self.
then there is a fee to live on campus which is half of the tuition. some colleges that i researched about has $930 per classes you want to take. your pretty much trying to pay off the school loan your whole life.
many people dont even go to college because they cannot pay for it. some colleges dont even have finacial aid which puts students in a difficult position whether or not to go to college.

writing prompt 11/4 HOW I LEARN.

Everyone learns differently. You are to write a 3-paragraph descriptive essay on your blog and call it "How I Learn." Here are the different learning styles that have been identified by a Harvard researcher:

4) Interpersonal - people smart - use of communication and interaction with others to learn
i am a interpersonal people smart type of person. i like to communicate and interact with people. the reason why i am interpersonal is because if i am given a topic to learn or talk about i like to do it in groups because it gives me a better insight on what other think. i understand it from other peoples point of view i get a thorough understanding. when i communicate with other peers they give me their opinion on what they think which makes me think into it and have more information on the topic were talking about in class. many people think there not

6) Spatial - picture smart - use of two- or three-dimensional pictures of images to learn

Writing prompt for blog due 11/18/13

Last week I had you write about what you are thirsting to learn and why. This week I want you to write about what puzzles you (confuses you) about the world, school, life, this class, etc., and why. It DOES NOT HAVE TO BE ABOUT THIS CLASS, although it can be. Write a 3-paragraph descriptive essay on your blog about what puzzles you and why that thing or idea or person or place or whatever puzzles you and what you think you could say, do, or think about to make it less confusing for yourself.

what confuses me the most in life is why is there taxes? taxes take so much money out of your pocket. when i go buy groceries they tax me like two dollars more. in my view two dollars is a lot. especially for people who do not have enough money to support their families, they are being taxed more than what they have to pay. people should just pay for what they buy not have extra money added to it.
Rather some people want to be taxed. the recent election joe llohta spoke about raising taxes for everyone meanwhile de blasio wanted to raise tax just for the wealthy. i supported de blasio on this because why should the middle class have to pay more and the wealthy just lives a luxury life.
They have enough money to live on so they can give to the tax. i feel there are a lot of stuff that is being taxed. houses are being taxed. home goods are being taxed. foods are being taxed. furniture is being taxed. if they wont lower or take the tax they should just tax on luxury items like buying a yacht or a private jet

blog week of oct 14

When was the last time you were assigned a research project? In what subject was it? What did you do? How did you feel about it? What did you think about it? Was it hard? Easy? Interesting? Boring? A burden? A joy? What was your project about? Did your teacher give you a choice of topics or was a topic assigned to you?

the last time i was assigned a research project was in tenth grade in English. the assignment my teacher gave me was to do research about the book we were reading and write the essay on a college level. i felt overwhelmed because i never seen a college essay and i don't know the format on how to write one. my thoughts about this research project was puzzling. i was confused on how to start the essay. the topic which was researching a book was easy but how to write it on a college level was hard. it was a burden at first but later on i realized that it was a benefit in knowing how to write college essays in the tenth grade. i had to research on the book the crucible. yes the teacher gave us a choice on what book to read.

What was the first research assignment you remember ever having? Were you in elementary school, middle school, or high school? Exactly what grade were you in? What do you remember learning about the research process? What did you choose to write about or was a topic assigned to you? Did the teacher who gave you the assignment teach you about the research process? Or was it the school librarian? Or both? What sources do you remember using? Encyclopedias? Books? Articles? The Internet? Other sources? As you did with the last writing prompt, describe the research process you went through. Did you enjoy it? Hate it? Find it fun? Find it boring? Find it tedious?

the first research assignment i ever got was in middle school. i was in the sixth grade while i was assigned the project. it was a fun topic which was about researching on what science project i wanted to do. the teacher gave us an outline how to write a research report. she gave us all handouts on how to write a research.
